Decidedly one of the most desirable living locations in the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula region it is one hour from Richmond or Fredericksburg, a hour and a half from Williamsburg, and only two hours from Washington DC. Tappahannock, a town of a population of 2,000 is a major hub controlling Route 17 and 360 and the bridge over the Rappahannock River that leads to the Northen Neck.
